What if every collegiate woman athlete had a clear, structured path to turn her athletic excellence into career opportunity?

On The Team equips alumni to build mentor communities inside their collegiate teams — guiding athletes to communicate their value, build meaningful connections, and turn strengths into opportunity.

The Reality

Collegiate women athletes develop elite skills in sport — leadership, teamwork, accountability, resilience.

But too often, there is no structured system to help them:

  • Communicate their athletic skills and experiences in professional language

  • Build and navigate meaningful networks

  • Practice real career conversations

  • Turn introductions into opportunity

Through the On The Team Mentor Model, athletes learn to tell compelling stories about how their teamwork skills extend beyond the game — and build the confidence to pursue internships, jobs, and meaningful professional relationships.

The Model

The On The Team Mentor Model installs a structured, alumni-led mentor community inside collegiate teams. It elevates traditional mentoring:

FROM mentors fixing problems TO mentors elevating existing strengths.

FROM mentors giving answers TO mentors asking questions that build ownership.

FROM a one-size-fits-all curriculum TO personalized support for their career journey.

The model is delivered through focused 4-week Goal Cycles and led by an On The Team–trained Mentor.

Define a Goal: Choose one meaningful, manageable next step.

Take Action: Execute the plan in real-world settings.

Build the Plan: Identify the actions needed to move the goal forward.

Reflect & Choose Next Step: Review progress, celebrate wins, decide next steps.

Goal Cycles move beyond one-off workshops into authentic motivation, real-time skill building, meaningful next steps, and real opportunity.
